Sunscreen, Splash, Repeat: A Mid-June Refresher
Hey neighbors!
The Morris Farm pool is officially open, the sunscreen is officially everywhere, and Crystal Aquatics tells us opening weekend went off without a hitch. Thanks for showing up registered, photographed, and ready to splash.
Now that everyone’s settled into a rhythm, here are a few friendly reminders — equal parts “the rules changed this year” and “let’s all be the kind of neighbors who get invited back.”
New This Year: The Swim Test Rules Got a Glow-Up
If you’ve got a kid who plans to swim without a parent within arm’s reach, read this part twice.
Starting this season, a parent or guardian has to actually be at the pool when your kid takes the swim test. No more dropping them off and hoping for the best. You’ll also be signing two forms — a Swim Test Permission form and an Unaccompanied Minor Agreement — both of which the lifeguards keep handy.
If your child passed last year, don’t assume the system remembers them. Ask the on-duty lifeguard to confirm they’re on file. If they’re not, they retest under the new rules. The full nitty-gritty lives in Sections F, G, and H of the 2026 Recreational Facility Rules.
Guest Passes: A Quick Reality Check
Bringing friends is great. Bringing the entire travel soccer team is… not. Here’s the deal:
- Four guests, max, per household at any one time. This isn’t us being grumpy — it’s a capacity and safety thing.
- You have to be 16 or older to bring a guest. Almost-16s, your time is coming.
- Every guest gets signed into the Guest Log. Yes, every time. Yes, even the friends who “basically live here.”
- Guest passes are $25 for a 10-visit punch card, paid by check only (made out to Meadows at Morris Farm Community Association). No cash. No Venmo. No credit cards. Buy them from the lifeguards or directly from Holly.
- Got leftover punches from last year? They still work, but Holly has to validate them first. Email her at least 24 hours before your visit: hgibson@sfmcinc.com. Surprise punches at the gate = sad faces all around.
Hours, Because Apparently Nobody Reads the Packet Twice
While PWC schools are still in session:
- Weekdays: 4 pm – 8 pm
- Weekends: 11 am – 8 pm
Once school’s out for summer, it’s 11 am – 8 pm, every single day. Glorious.
Heads up: the pool closes early on July 4th at 6 pm. The lifeguards have families and fireworks too.
A Few Common-Courtesy Reminders
Because we’re all sharing this thing all summer:
- Kids 4 and under don’t need a pass — but they do need a grown-up within arm’s reach in the water. No exceptions, no “but they’re a really good swimmer.”
- Pack out what you pack in. The trash cans are not magical and they fill up shockingly fast on a hot Saturday. Take your snack wrappers and empty Capri Suns home with you.
- Be cool to your lifeguards. They’re trained, they’re watching the entire pool, and if they ask you to take the cannonballs to the deep end or pause for safety break, please don’t argue. They are not the enemy of fun. They are the guardians of fun.
- Storm rolls through? The pool manager calls it. The pool reopens 45 minutes after the last lightning or thunder, ifthere’s still at least an hour of swim time left in the day. Otherwise, go home, eat ice cream, try again tomorrow.
