We’ve had several incidents of what appears to be intentional damage to our community’s property. Damage to our playground equipment, park property, trail signs, and the brand new Little Free Libraries makes our neighborhood less welcoming. And it costs all homeowners money for added maintenance and replacement of damaged items. We need your help!

  • When you see trash in our common areas, please put it into the trash receptacles. The community does not have a service that picks up trash on the ground.
  • If you see damage to our common area property, please notify Holly Gibson (hgibson@sfmc.com)
  • Be patient while Holly assesses the damage. Contacting contractor(s) for an estimate, working with the Board for approval of the work if needed, and then scheduling the work takes time. And everything takes time in an HOA; the community does not have an on-site, on-call maintenance team.
  • Remind our kids in particular to respect our community’s property. Intentional damage is something that we all pay for.
  • If you live near a common area that is vandalized, check security cameras and share any information with SFMC and Prince William County Police as appropriate.

Report It & Remove It!

Studies indicate that quick removal is the best deterrent. Be persistent, too. Research has shown that it may take an average of three times before vandals get discouraged with one spot.  If graffiti appears on your property (or in our community in common areas), Prince William County Neighborhood Services encourages every citizen to contact the Prince William County non-emergency Police number at 703-792-6500. 

If possible please take a photo of the graffiti. If graffiti is found on Association property, after contacting the police, please also notify Holly Gibson (hgibson@sfmcinc.com) so she can work on scheduling prompt removal which may reduce the likelihood of repeat vandalism.

  • If you see graffiti on another’s residence or business, report it to Neighborhood Services at 703-792-7018
  • If graffiti appears on public property, utility boxes, or road signs, report it to Neighborhood Services at 703-792-7018. We will work with the applicable agency to assist them with the graffiti removal efforts.
